Danielle Acken is a Canadian-born award winning international food photographer and writer who splits her time between her studio in Vancouver, BC and her farm studio on Canada’s beautiful Salt Spring Island.

My food photography aims to engage people more closely with the world around them, and with the love of food that feeds body and soul. I take a natural approach to visual storytelling: I want my images to look approachable and even more desirable — to me a food photo is successful if it makes you want to reach in and eat it, or at least engage with it on several different sensory levels. I'm available world wide but divide my time mainly between Birmingham Alabama, the West Coast of Canada, and the UK.
